Tyler Wigg-Stevenson helps shape our identities in faith on ‘WikiGod’

WikiGod #26: Tyler Wigg-Stevenson

The Jesus Brand and Human Identity…

This week we are wikiing God with Tyler Wigg-Stevenson. Tyler is an anti-nuclear activist and founder of the Two Futures Project. He has authored two books and co-authored a third: Brand Jesus, The World Is Not Ours To Save, and Fighting For Peace. Tyler talks with Mark about how things came together for him to write what he calls a “treatise on consumerism” in Jesus Brand. They also discuss identity and how the church is at risk of losing its subversive voice.

WHAT’S ON EPISODE 26:

  • how consumerism took such drastic roots in Western culture
  • the dangers of adopting the values of consumerism for our purposes
  • Tyler unpacks his thesis that we shape our identities by what we consume
  • how Jesus-followers need to see human identity not by marketplace but rather as given by God
