But this may make you think otherwise: webster defines ambition as the eager desire for distinction, power, or fame. With that type of description, Ann Mainse is thinking that maybe when placed in the context of a relationship with God, an ambitious person may not be as successful as you might think. In this portion of Mark chapter 10, Jesus is faced with ambition in all of its selfish glory.
