How many times have we stepped out in faith, sure that Jesus had said to come, only to step back in alarm when doubt crept in? That’s what Matthew chapter 14 is all about. It was on a boat in a storm – a fear-for-your-life state of mind – that the disciples found Jesus that night. Peter knew if Jesus called him to come, He wouldn’t let him drown. But can you imagine the faith it must’ve taken for Peter to climb out of that boat? If only Peter would’ve kept his eyes on Him. If only we would do the same.
