Author Calvin Miller once said that “the world is poor because her treasure is buried in the sky and all her treasure maps are of the earth.” For the most part, he’s right… all the maps but One. God’s Word is our map to the most valuable treasure of all. And, as we’ll see in today’s reading, it was this eye-to-eye realization that was the apostle Stephen’s greatest earthly reward.

“But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. ‘Look,’ he said, ‘I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!’” – Acts 7:55, 56
