Saying no to the light, stumbling in the darkness of our selfishness and pride. For all of us, that storm is imminent. We’ve seen the clouds building, felt the winds gain strength and yet, for many, our own inner darkness balks at God’s Light. To put it into context, there is a sad story from years ago involving a “hurricane party” that shows the danger of laughing off the warning signs. It is a nice reminder to take today’s reading seriously.
