Even outside of the Christian faith, John the Baptist is one of the most recognizable names from the Bible, but many don’t know what he’s all about. In fact, even people of his time weren’t sure on that and he was causing quite a stir with his rough-around-the-edges style. Was he a prophet? Elijah? The Messiah? That’s what we’re looking at in our reading today because the answer John gave himself… set the stage for the events that would change mankind forever.
