Dr. Marion Taylor Discusses How We Interpret the Bible

Dr. Marion Taylor

WikiGod #35

This week we are wikiing God with Dr. Marion Taylor, Professor of Old Testament of Wycliffe College. She is also the author and editor of The Handbook of Women Interpreters. It is a great reference tool highlighting female interpreters of the Bible. Marion’s interests in the Old Testament are broad, but that makes for some wonderful and insightful conversation as she sits down with Mark Groleau for this podcast.

Dr. Marion Taylor Talks with Mark About…

  • her recent work on the controversial books of Esther and Ruth
  • burning questions about the Bible that led her into voracious academic pursuits
  • why people interpret the same passages differently and how sharing makes us humble readers
  • being less prone to errors in our handling of ancient sacred text
  • how she started to uncover the lost works of women interpreters
  • her lifelong project and major contribution to scholarship
