It must be fun to have a name that sounds seasonal at Christmas, like Noel – which means Christmas! Caroline Maria Noel began writing poems as a teenager but gave it up when she was about twenty years old. Only after becoming bedridden with a serious illness in her forties did she again take up her pen in the hope of encouraging others who were suffering.
